How To Create A Pseudo HDR Photograph
HDR is the process of taking three or more identical exposures of the same shot: one correctly exposed, one over exposed and one under exposed. They are overlaid, normally using a third-party piece of software like Photomatix, which replaces all the blown out highlights in the over-exposed shot with the correctly exposed highlights from the under-exposed shot, and vice versa.

Buying A Cheap Rangefinder Camera
Until last week I was just a ‘Canon Man’. Now, I am a Canon-Olympus-Konica-Petri man and in the space of a couple of weeks I have increased my camera ownership from two Canons to four Canons, two Konicas, two Olympus cameras and one Petri! Sony World Photography Awards Exhibition
Running now is the Sony World Photography Awards Exhibition at Somerset House, London. I was commended in the low-light category and my work is digitally displayed along with the other commended works. The exhibition runs from 27th April to 20th May at Somerset House. I have it on good authority that it is an excellent show with a lot of very good photography from around the world.

Ice Cream Vendor Shortlisted In Telegraph
I was very pleased to see that my hand-held HDR shot of an ice-cream vendor was shortlisted in this week’s Big Picture, the weekly online photography competition. It’s not the first time they’ve run a hand-held HDR picture of mine. Come to think of it, I think this could be the third! Either way, it’s a real pleasure to see it in round 203.
